The seldom brief cut-scenes are all in-engine, with no CGI, and with how articulate, free and detailed the animation and graphics(the corpses come apart beautifully, and while the Wii is supposed to be the least powerful of the Next Gen machines in that regard, I think someone forgot to tell that to this game) are, not to mention how excellent the cinematography and editing are, you don't miss it. There are unlockables, such as images and videos. Upon completing the entire thing, you will get the Director's Cut option: The same thing, only with harder enemies and limited continues(normally in this, if you lose all life, you either proceed and lose half of your score or give up and keep it). Also, for replayability value, there is the feature of purchasing(with the cash you earn by playing, extra for doing well) additions to your arsenal(as well as upgrading it), like an automatic shotgun(!), a SMG, and an assault rifle, for a total of six different weapons, for all your trigger-happy needs. In that way, each of them can be tougher, with literally tons of zombies(and there's a "more" function, if you don't find the amount to be satisfactory I'd say they either move slowly, like in the classics, or swiftly, like in the recent movies), and extraordinarily intense(in-game, there are longer breaks between attacks than in the others, and this serves to increase the effect when they rush you again, and there isn't a dull moment in this), as you can rest your hands(.you'll need it) in-between them. This is still short, and thus doesn't overstay its welcome(no matter the quality, a 1st person rail shooter that moves on its own, and where you can merely aim and fire is going to get old if it keeps going), but now you can take the 7 chapters(this has a bad-ass trailer voice narration between them, making each of them feel like one picture, like in those theaters) of Story Mode one at a time, as it will save after each, in its profile system, allowing for 3 separate ones. You see, this one fixes everything that one could possibly complain about with the others, and alters the things that had grown stale. You have to wonder why it took them three(I haven't tried the new arcade one, can't comment on it) games that were practically the same before they made this.

You won't be disappointed. This review is of the version for the Wii, in case this has been released for any other console, or the PC I haven't heard of it being out for any of them, I'm covering my bases. But if you can overlook that, play this game. However, the game is short (just like another awesome grindhousey game on the Wii called MadWorld).

It's also very fun to play with a friend. Overkill is a cinch to play, especially if you have the Wii Zapper gun peripheral. The only major sexual content is in the opening, which is basically a zombie striptease (but it's not terribly explicit).

The headshots are extravagantly gory, but again, they look fake. However, in keeping with the total grindhouse nature of this game, it looks totally fake. Not to mention, this is a House of the Dead game. From the first cutscene, there's a nonstop barrage of F-bombs (almost 200, in fact, which gave the game a WORLD RECORD). The loading screen says "RATED XXX", and that's accurate (not to mention very grindhousey). Think a playable Shaun of the Dead on crack, and you'll see what HOTD: Overkill has to offer. Note that it's definitely rated M for a reason however. House of the Dead: Overkill is one of the best titles for teen and adult Wii owners.

Have this for my wii and ps3 system I have the Extended Cut(Uncut version) and the normal version, but I almost don't play the normal at al it's not fun and a lot of things are missing in it that are in the extended cut I only play normal when I'm bored or something otherwise it's just like a unplayed game sitting there.

There are very few mature games for the wii and this is one of them.I got it for my wii and it is awesome me and my brother play it 6,7 hours a day it's soooo funny and god,I can't believe this won the Guinness book of world records for game with most profanity ever it only has ( this is not an accurate number, since I counted it myself and lose track of the number sometimes) but I think it has 100+ f bombs in it not really profane at all have you seen the movie f*ck ?yes that's what I call the most profane thing on earth ever it has almost 1000 over f-words in it call that extreme I saw that movie when I was 8 and THAT'S totally what I call extreme by the way violence in this isn't at all bad comparing this to splatter house it's tons less violent
